    Mossley Hill Scouts and Guides

    Christmas 2016 Float

Each year, since 1972, the Mossley Hill Scouts and Guides Christmas Float goes out and about on four evenings for 3 hours collecting for charity and all members of the Scout and Guides sections take part. The Scout members are from age 6 upwards and the Rainbow members are from age 5 upwards, and each night they walk about 5 miles, no mean feat for the younger ones.

The chosen charities always include Alder Hey Childrens Kidney Fund through our connection with Dr Thomas McKendrick, retired Paediatric Renal Consultant and retired Scout Leader with 2nd Allerton. They are pleased to have contributed over £30,000 over the years to the Alder Hey Childrens Kidney Fund.

Since introducing the Community Impact Activity Badge to the Scouting Programme, the Group hopes that each member of the Scout Sections will be out walking with the float for at least two evenings each year and thereby fulfil the requirements of the badge.

Alder Hey Childrens Kidney Fund are extremely grateful for the Group's continued support - well done Mossley Hill!!!!
