Southport Rugby Football Club - Fantastic Fundraiser!!

Southport Rugby Football Club invited Alder Hey Children's Kidney Fund to receive a cheque following their amazing fund-raising event. James Doran and Gareth Lang from the Club presented the cheque for £15,000!! The photos show James with his niece Ava, who is a patient at Alder Hey Renal Unit, and Gareth with his daughter Ella presenting the cheque to children who recently represented Alder Hey Renal Unit at the British Transplant Games.

The Club raised funds by aiming for the Guiness World Record Attempt - Longest Game of Rugby Union, which they achieved playing for over 26 hours. In addition to the donation to the Kidney Fund, the event also raised funds to purchase a specialist physiotherapy vest for Ella, who has Cystic Fibrosis.

It was a remarkable achievement by everyone concerned and we can only thank everyone who participated in any way.

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE AT SOUTHPORT RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB
